Mental Health & Men

Do you feel there is no one to talk to?Do you feel you don’t know where to start looking at your problems?Do you feel there must be more to life?Do you know that others can support you?

Why attend the Mental Health & Men workshop?

Men in Scotland can feel that Mental Health problems happen to other people and not to them. This can make you feel more alone and lonely. It is as important for men, as for women, to pay attention to their Mental Health, and to look after their health. Statistics show that men are slower in looking for support which can have a deteriorating effect on their health, work and relationships.

What will I learn from the workshop?

The workshop provides you with an understanding of Mental Health and a knowledge of how stresses of life and situations can affect health. Strong emotions can be difficult to experience for men. Dealing with rejection or anger can be particularly difficult without understanding emotions, and / or having some coping strategies.

How will the workshop help me?

The workshop provides a toolkit of skills from which you can choose the appropriate skills for each situation you are in. It also helps you to be aware of where to get support, and how to talk about emotions.

What if I don’t attend?

Men who attend the workshop become more comfortable with themselves, which has the effect of making them happier in themselves.
